Same email on three ticket rows, same people in every event’s export? Get one row per email.

A group order can put the buyer’s email on every ticket row, and people who come back show up again in each event’s export. Combine your exports into one CSV and get back a cleaned CSV with same-email rows merged into one, plus a change log that lists every merge by row number.

No calls needed: pay, email your export to slrescue@mail.grokbot.com, and get it back within 24 hours on Quick Clean (up to 200 rows; 48 hours on Intro, 72 hours on Growth, 5 business days on Bulk). Promo code SLRLAUNCH15 takes 15% off the Intro, Growth and Bulk packs through Nov 6.

Why a combined export has repeats

  • Group orders: one buyer’s email can sit on every ticket row of the order.
  • Repeat attendees: their email shows up in the export of every event they came to.
  • Small differences hide repeats: the same address typed with capitals, or with a stray space at the start or end.

What organisers say about their exports

Paraphrased from public forum threads where organisers describe the problem. These are not our customers and not reviews.

  • They can export their whole list from Eventbrite, but it has lots of duplicates and doesn’t show which events each person came to.
  • They want to know whether people at their free events have been to earlier ones, and how many, but the attendee details sit in a spreadsheet nobody has been tracking.
  • When someone orders several tickets, contact details are given for one person, so every ticket in that order carries the same contact information.
  • A ten-ticket order sends the same buyer’s details through their automation ten times.
  • A webinar host found fewer confirmed registrants than rows in their CSV and wondered whether duplicates were being removed.

Eventbrite may already do this for you

If what you need is a subscriber list inside Eventbrite, its help article describes the “Import attendees from past events” option like this: “Attendees will only be added once even if they attended multiple events.” (Eventbrite Help Center: Create and manage a subscriber list). That is free and built in.

We help with something else: attendee and order exports from several events, combined into one CSV and merged outside Eventbrite, with a change log of every merge and, if you ask, one cell per person listing the events their merged rows came from.

Events based in Australia, Canada or Germany

The same Eventbrite article says: “For compliance requirements, you are not able to import attendees from events based in Australia, Canada, or Germany.” So for those events that subscriber-list option isn’t available. Our cleanup works only on the CSV file you send us. It doesn’t change who you may contact, and the note below applies everywhere.

How it works

Check the file free

Run the free CSV Preflight. It runs in your browser, counts duplicate emails, and the file is not uploaded.

Combine your exports

Paste each event’s rows under one header row so the columns line up, and save one CSV. If the exports don’t name the event, add an event name column first.

Pay and send

Quick Clean is $25 for up to 200 rows. Pay on Stripe, then email the CSV to slrescue@mail.grokbot.com and say it is an Eventbrite export.

Get it back within 24 hours

A cleaned CSV plus a change log (changelog.md and change_log.json). Bigger files: see the sizes below.

What you get back

  • One row per email: rows with the same email, ignoring capitals and spaces at the start or end, merged into one; every merge listed in the change log with its row numbers
  • Where merged rows differ, the first row’s value is kept and the other value is listed in the change log, so a second ticket holder’s name on a group order is in the change log, not the main file
  • Event names combined only if you ask: name your event column and each kept row lists every event its merged rows came from, for example “Spring Market, Autumn Market”
  • Possible duplicates noted, never merged: on request, rows with the same first and last name but a different email get a “possible duplicate” note in qa_notes and needs_review status
  • Invalid or missing emails marked needs_review with the reason in qa_notes; a personal address (Gmail and similar) or a blank company is noted as info only, since both are normal on an attendee list
  • Your other columns (order number, ticket type and so on) kept at the end, values unchanged apart from extra spaces

Questions

Doesn't Eventbrite already remove duplicates?

For its own subscriber lists, Eventbrite says “Attendees will only be added once even if they attended multiple events.” (Eventbrite Help Center). We work on exports you combine yourself: attendee and order exports from several events, merged by email outside Eventbrite, with a change log of every merge.

Can I email everyone on the cleaned list?

Not because we cleaned it. We don’t check who agreed to hear from you. Only email attendees who agreed to hear from you; if your export has an opt-in column, keep it and use it.

Will you combine the event names for each person?

Only if you ask. Tell us which column holds the event name, and when rows are merged the kept row lists every event name from the merged rows, comma-separated, with repeats dropped. Without that request the first row’s event name is kept and the others are listed in the change log.

What happens to a group order with one email on several tickets?

Rows with the same email become one row. If the ticket rows carry different attendee names, the first row’s name is kept and the others are listed in the change log with their row numbers.

Can you merge people who used two different emails?

No. We only merge rows with the same email. On request we note rows with the same first and last name but a different email as possible duplicates, and you decide.

Are you affiliated with Eventbrite?

No. We only work on the CSV file you send us.

Is my data safe?

Files are used only for your job and deleted after delivery on request (see Anonymous aggregate statistics).

Anonymous aggregate statistics. After a cleanup we keep a small record of counts about your file: rows in and out, duplicates merged, rows flagged for review, which fields were present, and the CRM you told us it's for. This record contains no contact data, names, emails, company names, domains, file names or cell values, and it isn't deleted when your file is deleted. We only publish these counts combined with at least 19 other lists (and at least 5 different customers), so no single customer can be identified. To opt out, reply 'opt out' to your delivery email and we'll delete your record.

What if the cleaned file isn't right?
